Tennis professional Sabine Lisicki isset to star in the RTL television series
Sabine Lisicki, the 35-year-old former tennis champion, is branching into a new field - acting. The German athlete, who found great success, particularly on grass courts, will make her acting debut in the popular RTL series "Alles was zählt".
Born in Troisdorf, Lisicki has been a fan of "Alles was zählt" since its inception. The soap opera, which has been running on RTL's prime-time schedule since 2006 and is produced in Cologne, features various sports over the years, including tennis, which was introduced as a new discipline this summer.
Lisicki's guest appearance will air in episodes 4846 to 4848 between December 15 and 17, 2025, with a one-week early release on RTL+. In the series, Lisicki plays herself, conducting a tennis workshop for female tennis juniors and interacting with characters Joana and Gabriella.
The tennis star finds it great that tennis is now part of "Alles was zählt". Lisicki's acting experience is limited, with her only prior experience being a role in a school musical. However, she hopes her appearance might encourage more people, especially children, to take up tennis.
In 2013, Lisicki reached the Wimbledon final, a significant milestone in her career. She has worked as an expert in front of the camera and has done commercial shoots. However, before her shoot for "Alles was zählt", Lisicki mentioned feeling nervous due to learning lines and her current state of 'mom brain'. 'Mom brain' refers to concentration difficulties among young mothers, a condition Lisicki announced the experience of after the birth of her daughter in September 2024.
Sports is a major theme in "Alles was zählt", which revolves around events at a sports and wellness center. Lisicki's success on grass courts, particularly at Wimbledon, is sure to add an exciting dimension to the series.
Lisicki recently conducted a tennis workshop for female tennis juniors in Essen, further demonstrating her commitment to promoting the sport. With her acting debut in "Alles was zählt", Lisicki is set to captivate audiences both on and off the tennis court.
