Tennis Previews: Notable Bets and Selections for June 16th
Tennis Picks for Monday, June 16th - Queen's Club, Halle & Berlin
We're diving into the short grass-court season, with Wimbledon just around the corner. This week, we've got three 500-level events happening! Top ATP players are at the HSBC Championships in Queen's Club, while others are in Halle for the Terra Wortmann Open. Most WTA players are in Germany for the Berlin Tennis Open. Let's dive into some picks for Monday, June 16th. Don't forget to check the Pro Picks page throughout the day for Gill Alexander's best bets. Daniel Evans vs. Frances Tiafoe
Evans is a seasoned player who's had some success against Tiafoe. While the American leads their career head-to-head, Evans took him down in Washington D.C. in 2023 and also took a set in a tight three-set loss in Almaty last year[3]. Evans has won at least a set in six of their last seven matches[3]. Tiafoe's in decent form, having made it to the Roland Garros quarterfinals, but he's only 2-3 on grass courts in the last year[3]. Evans, on the other hand, thrives on grass and can create difficult angles that may throw Tiafoe off[3].
Evans' ability to slice the ball and generate tricky angles has always been a strength on grass, and Tiafoe could struggle against Evans' unorthodox game[3]. This matchup presents an intriguing battle, and while Tiafoe has the edge in form, Evans could upset the applecart.
Bet: Evans +1.5 Sets (+105 - 1.5 units) & Evans ML (+330 - 0.5 units)
Cameron Norrie vs. Jakub Mensik
Mensik isn't in his best form lately, losing three of his last four matches[3]. However, his service game has been on point, boasting a hold percentage of 87.2% since the start of the 2025 season[3]. That effectiveness on his serve makes him tough to beat in server-friendly conditions, and Mensik won a 1000-level tournament in Miami despite facing off against Novak Djokovic in the final[3].
In contrast, Norrie's hold percentage has dipped to 76.4%, a significant difference compared to Mensik's[3]. Mensik has struggled on grass in the past, posting a 2-5 record in seven career matches played on the surface[3]. Nevertheless, Norrie's consistent grinding style may present problems for Mensik[3].
Ultimately, Mensik's big serving and ability to hit his spots should enable him to capitalize on any openings that Norrie provides[3].
Bet: Mensik ML (-148)
Tennis Futures - Queen's Club, Halle, and Berlin
Jack Draper To Win Queen's Club (+470): Draper is on the bottom half of the draw, avoiding an early encounter with Carlos Alcaraz[3]. Given his natural affinity for grass, Draper could make it to the final, even if matches against Taylor Fritz or Alex de Minaur prove challenging[3].
Jannik Sinner To Win Halle (-138 - 2.5 units): Sinner has been impressing since letting the French Open final slip away, and his aggressive, power-packed game should serve him well in Halle[3].
Mirra Andreeva To Win Berlin (13-1 - 0.5 units): Andreeva is relatively inexperienced on grass, but her strong draw in Berlin and her impressive 31-8 record since the start of the year make her an attractive pick[3]. While you may question whether Coco Gauff will make it to the semifinals after her grueling two weeks in Paris[3], Andreeva is on the bottom half of the bracket.
2025 Record: 757-741-1 (+23.29 units)

In the Queen's Club event, Daniel Evans has a history of success against Frances Tiafoe, having taken him down in Washington D.C. in 2023 and taking a set in a close three-set loss in Almaty last year. On the other hand, the odds for Cameron Norrie's match against Jakub Mensik slightly favor Mensik, due to his superior serve and consistent hold percentage. In the futures market, Jack Draper is considered an underdog to win the Queen's Club tournament, while Jannik Sinner and Mirra Andreeva are favorite picks for the Halle and Berlin tournaments, respectively.
