Iga Swiatek, the second-ranked tennis player in the world, secured her spot in the Korea Open final after a dominant performance in the semi-finals.

In the semi-final match played on Centre Court, Swiatek defeated Maya Joint with a commanding 6-0 6-2 victory. The Polish star sealed the win with a powerful smash at the net, demonstrating her formidable skills.

Swiatek's journey to the final began with a quarter-final victory over Barbora Krejcikova, where she won 6-0 6-3. In the rescheduled match from Friday, due to persistent rain, Swiatek overcame Joint to advance.

Meanwhile, the semi-final matches between Siniakova and Swiatek, and Alexandrova and Swiatek, are yet to be played, with both matches postponed due to rain.

Czech player Katerina Siniakova reached the semi-finals with a 6-1 7-5 win over Suzan Lamens. On the other hand, Russian player Ekaterina Alexandrova advanced with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Ella Seidel.

Aryna Sabalenka, the top-ranked player, was unable to compete in the China Open due to a minor injury sustained during her run to the U.S. Open title.

Swiatek is aiming to win her first trophy in South Korea and her third of the season. Her father, Tomasz, represented Poland in the men's quadruple sculls event at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, adding to the family's rich tennis history.

The final of the Korea Open is scheduled to take place soon, with Swiatek's opponent yet to be determined. The winner of the semi-final matches between Siniakova and Alexandrova will face Swiatek in the final.
