Tennis player Sabine Lisicki assumes role in RTL television series
Sabine Lisicki, the 35-year-old tennis star who achieved great success, particularly on grass, is venturing into a new field. She will be making her series debut on the RTL show "Alles was zählt," a popular soap opera that has been running since 2006 and is produced in Cologne.
Lisicki, who was born in Troisdorf, has been a fan of the show since its beginning. She was surprised to learn that it had been running for over a decade. "Alles was zählt" revolves around events around a sports and wellness center, making sports a major theme in the show. Tennis was introduced as a new discipline in the show this summer.
Lisicki's guest appearance will be seen in episodes 4846 to 4848, airing between December 15 and 17, 2025, on RTL (one week earlier on RTL+). In these episodes, she gives a tennis workshop for young female players.
Lisicki admitted feeling a bit nervous before the shoot, as she had to learn lines. However, she is happy that tennis is now part of "Alles was zählt" and hopes that the inclusion of tennis might encourage more people, especially kids, to play tennis.
Despite her busy schedule as a mom, Lisicki announced the birth of her daughter in September 2024. Currently, she hardly watches anything due to her busy schedule. She misses watching movies and expressed her hope that her acting debut might give her more opportunities to enjoy her favourite pastime again.
Lisicki has limited acting experience, with her only high-level experience being a school theater musical. In her role in "Alles was zählt," she plays a self-referential role, portraying herself.
Despite her lack of acting experience, Lisicki's appearance in the show is highly anticipated. She achieved great success in her tennis career, with her most notable achievement being reaching the Wimbledon final in 2013. Her guest appearance in "Alles was zählt" is sure to be an exciting event for both tennis and soap opera fans alike.
