Tennis partners from United States Open 2025, one being a Briton, have mutually decided against mixing in their games.

In a series of unfortunate events, two top tennis players, Jack Draper and Grigor Dimitrov, have been forced to withdraw from the US Open 2025 mixed doubles tournament due to injuries.

British player Jack Draper has been sidelined with a left hand injury, causing him to miss several tournaments, including the Masters series tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati. His bad luck continued during the hard court tour of North America. Draper's mixed doubles partner for the US Open, Paula Badosa, has also withdrawn from the tournament due to recovery from surgery.

Similarly, Dimitrov, ranked No. 20 in the world, suffered a partial tear of the pectoral muscle during his quarterfinal match at Wimbledon. His rehabilitation period has turned out to be longer than expected, preventing him from participating in the US Open 2025. His original mixed doubles partner, Arina Sabalenka, has not secured a new partner for the tournament.

Despite receiving offers from several male players, Sabalenka has chosen not to re-pair with anyone, citing loyalty to her original partner, Grigor Dimitrov. Zheng Qinwen, another previous mixed doubles partner of Draper, has also withdrawn due to recovery from surgery.

The US Open 2025 will take place from August 24 to September 8. The tournament organisers are keeping two spots open for unnamed player pairs. It is possible that Sabalenka is already looking for a new partner for the US Open 2025.

Jack Draper's injury was confirmed after consultation with a leading specialist in the field. Dimitrov's withdrawal from the tournament was also confirmed, leaving the mixed doubles field without two of its top contenders.

Despite Sabalenka's name not yet appearing in the final entry lists for the tournament, she remains an available potential mixed doubles partner for Jack Draper, should he recover in time for the US Open 2025. The absence of Draper and Dimitrov from the mixed doubles tournament will undoubtedly change the dynamics of the competition, and fans will eagerly await the final entry lists to see who will step up to fill the void.

Despite Jack Draper's injury and his subsequent withdrawal from several tournaments including the Masters series, sports enthusiasts may still be hopeful of seeing him back on the court at the US Open 2025, especially if he recovers in time for mixed doubles. Meanwhile, the withdrawal of top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov from the tournament due to a pectoral muscle injury has left a significant gap in the mixed doubles field, particularly since his original partner, Arina Sabalenka, is yet to secure a new partner.
