Tennis Forecast: Lois Boisson vs. Coco Gauff Analysis, Betting Odds, and Top Picks
Hear Me Out:
On Thursday, June 5th, the tension is high as World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka takes on Iga Swiatek in the semis of the 2025 French Open. But let's not forget about the other semifinal showdown! Coco Gauff, the world No. 2, looks forward to making a comeback to the French Open final since 2022. She's up against French wildcard Lois Boisson, who just stunned Mirra Andreeva, a favorite to win the tournament. The home crowd's backing Boisson, but can she pull off another shocker? Let's dive in and discuss this mouthwatering semi-final face-off.
If you're eager for more sports predictions, head over to the VSiN picks page for a steady stream. I'll post plays for both major and smaller tournaments on that page.

Game On!
If you've been tuning into all my French Open analysis, you might have scored on Gauff clinching Quarter 4. I made 3.5 units that bagged 2.5 units, and I've also staked another 1.5 units on Gauff to win the tourney at +550. I dished all that out in my pre-tournament futures piece if you're wondering where to find it. If you've followed my advice, there's no play needed here. I'm confident Gauff'll blow past Boisson. But for those who joined the action late, I suggest betting on Gauff -4.5 games at -150 if you're looking for a play in this match.
I must admit, I'm a bit concerned about how Gauff's serve will hold up amidst an insane crowd. The French crowd will do everything in their power to get in Gauff's head, as they can be relentless. She served up 10 double faults against Madison Keys in the quarterfinals, and this isn't the first time we've seen that kind of performance from her. So, with a boisterous crowd aiming to help Boisson, who knows how Gauff will cope? Nonetheless, I believe the difference between these two players is massive. I'm unsure how Boisson can frustrate Gauff with her actual play.
Gauff had never dropped a set before earning a 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-1 victory over Keys in the previous round. She faced tougher opponents than Boisson in her matches, and she could have easily won in straight sets against Keys, too. Still, Boisson has impressed us with her wins over Mirra Andreeva and Jessica Pegula at this tournament, but she has also played only eight tour-level matches in her career. It's only a matter of time before the moment becomes too big for her, right? Perhaps it's here, in a prime let-down spot.
It feels like Gauff is on the verge of turning in a complete performance. She featured in the finals in both Madrid and Rome, but her run was marred by shaky matches. Could this be where she makes that step forward? Possibly with a convincing win over Boisson. After all, Gauff rarely loses to players outside of the Top 50.
This match feels like a battle between Boisson's home crowd support and Gauff's defense and athleticism. Given a choice, I'd place my bets on the latter. And if Gauff finds her serve or forehand, this could get really ugly. So, I suggest going with the game spread. If Boisson nabs a set in a nail-biter, it wouldn't be surprising. But I can easily envision Gauff serving up some 6-0 sets.
My Bet: Gauff -4.5 games (-150)
