Tennis Star Sabine Lisicki Makes Acting Debut in German Soap Opera 'Alles was zählt'
Sabine Lisicki, the former Wimbledon finalist, is venturing into a new realm – acting. The tennis player has announced her series debut in the long-running German soap opera, 'Alles was zählt', which is produced in Cologne.
Lisicki, who was born in Troisdorf, has limited acting experience, with her only prior experience being in a school musical. However, she was delighted about the offer to appear in 'Alles was zählt', a show she has been a fan of since its beginning.
"I remember the first advertisement of 'Alles was zählt' and found it great that there was a series about sports," Lisicki said. The series, which has been running since 2006, is known for its major theme of sport, revolving around events surrounding a sports and wellness center.
This summer, tennis was introduced as a new discipline in 'Alles was zählt'. Lisicki's character in the series will be portraying herself, and she finds it surprising that the show has been running since 2006.
Lisicki will be giving a tennis workshop for young female tennis players in Essen, and her guest appearance will air in episodes 4846 to 4848 between December 15 and 17, 2025 on RTL (one week earlier on RTL+).
Despite her new acting role, Lisicki hardly watches anything on TV since her daughter was born. However, she misses watching movies and finds it surprising that 'Alles was zählt' has been running for so long.
Lisicki achieved great success, particularly on grass courts, reaching the Wimbledon final in 2013. She hopes that the inclusion of tennis in 'Alles was zählt' might inspire more people, especially kids, to take up tennis.
Sabine Lisicki's foray into acting is not without its nerves. She mentioned feeling nervous before the shoot due to having to learn lines. However, she finds the experience exciting and looks forward to sharing her passion for tennis with the 'Alles was zählt' audience.
