Tennis champion Sabine Lisicki assumes control in RTL's television series
Sabine Lisicki, the 35-year-old tennis star, is set to make her acting debut in the popular German soap opera "Alles was zählt." The series, which has been running on RTL's primetime schedule since 2006, is produced in Cologne, where Lisicki filmed her scenes.
Lisicki, who was born in Troisdorf, has expressed her happiness about the offer to be in "Alles was zählt," as she has been a fan of the series since its beginning. She will play herself in the series and will be featured in episodes 4846 to 4848, airing between December 15 and 17, 2025 on RTL (one week earlier on RTL+).
Tennis was introduced as a new discipline in "Alles was zählt" this summer, and Lisicki will be a part of this exciting new addition. In the series, she will hold a tennis workshop for young players in Cologne, a city where she filmed the scenes on the series tennis court.
Lisicki has achieved great success in her tennis career, particularly on grass courts, including reaching the Wimbledon final in 2013. However, she admitted that she was a bit nervous before the shoot due to having to learn lines.
Prior to becoming a professional athlete, Lisicki used to watch many series after training to relax. This acting experience, along with her role in a school musical, may have prepared her for her role in "Alles was zählt."
Lisicki has not seen a complete prime since the birth of her daughter, but she hopes that her appearance in "Alles was zählt" will inspire more people, especially children, to start playing tennis. She also hopes that her role will encourage more women to pursue their passions, whether that be in movies or acting.
"Alles was zählt" revolves around events at a sports and wellness center, making sports a major theme in the series. Lisicki announced the birth of her daughter in September 2024, and currently, as a mom, she hardly watches anything due to lack of time.
Lisicki's guest appearance in "Alles was zählt" is sure to be an exciting addition to the series, and fans of both tennis and "Alles was zählt" are eagerly awaiting her debut.
