Woman Paid to Have Monkeys Tortured - Now Facing Jail Time - Tennessee Woman Jailed for Commissioning Extreme Monkey Abuse Videos

A woman from Greenville, Tennessee, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for her role in producing and sharing videos of extreme monkey abuse. The case involved an online group that commissioned and distributed footage showing severe torture, including sexual violence against both adult and young animals.

The investigation, led by the FBI and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, revealed that the woman used encrypted messaging apps to contact perpetrators in Indonesia. She provided detailed instructions on how to torture the monkeys and film the abuse. The videos were then shared within the online group she was part of.

The woman pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce and distribute 'crush videos' as well as an additional charge related to a commissioned video. Authorities have stressed that such cases are rarely isolated, often involving international networks where violence is ordered and paid for. No other suspects linked to the group have been publicly identified or charged at this time.

The court also imposed three years of supervised release following her prison term. The case highlights the ongoing challenge of combating organised animal cruelty across borders. Authorities continue to monitor similar networks involved in the production and distribution of such content.
