The University of Tennessee's Food City Center in Knoxville, TN, has received a significant upgrade with a new LED display system designed and installed by Daktronics. This comprehensive and advanced setup offers a versatile and high-quality visual experience for fans attending basketball games and other events.

At the heart of the system is an 11-display centerhung video board system, part of a total of 24 LED displays throughout the arena. The four main video displays, each nearly 15 feet high by 24.5 feet wide, support variable content zoning, allowing multiple zones to show live video, instant replays, statistics, game information, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages.

Four corner wedge displays, each nearly 15 feet high by 5 feet wide, fit between the main displays for a seamless viewing experience. A ribbon board below the main displays measures 3 feet high by 103 feet in circumference, providing supplemental graphics and information. Additional ribbon boards around the arena measure approximately 2.5 feet high and nearly 880 feet in length.

Two displays angled on the underside of the centerhung scoreboard are each 6 feet high by 20 feet wide, enticing fans with classic highlights and promoting upcoming events. Six scorer’s table displays were replaced, with four measuring 2.5 feet high by 10 feet wide and two measuring 2.5 feet high by 6.5 feet wide, all featuring a 3.9mm pixel spacing.

Outside the arena, two marquee displays welcome fans and guests, each measuring 9.5x25.5 feet and featuring a 10mm pixel spacing. The six scorers tables deliver additional sponsorship opportunities while also delivering supplemental game information and graphics.

Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White stated that the upgrades to the video boards are impressive and part of their commitment to continually elevate the fan experience. He also emphasised that the new system is essential to their partnership with Food City.

The new LED display system provides a massive home court advantage and is a natural progression of maximising the fan experience, as stated by Josh Francois, Daktronics regional sales manager. With this upgrade, the Food City Center is set to offer an unparalleled visual experience for fans at every event.

The new LED display system, featuring an 11-display centerhung video board system and additional ribbon boards throughout the arena, will showcase live video, statistics, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages for NCAA basketball games and other events at the Food City Center. With two marquee displays outside the arena and six scorers' table displays inside, the upgraded system promises to deliver a unique and immersive experience for fans attending events at the University of Tennessee's Food City Center.
