The image shows a group of people standing around a race car on a track, with a stadium in the background filled with people sitting in the stands. There are banners with text on them, a fence, grass, trees, buildings, and a clear blue sky. The car appears to be a Formula E car, and the people around it appear to be celebrating a victory, as if they have just won the race.

Tenneco Powers Cadillac’s Formula 1 Debut with Multi-Year Tech Partnership

Tenneco LLC has signed a multi-year technical partnership with the Cadillac Formula 1® Team. The deal comes ahead of the team’s debut in the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship™. As a global automotive supplier, Tenneco will provide key engineering support and performance products to both the racing outfit and GM’s power units.

The collaboration highlights the team’s push to build a competitive foundation before entering the sport’s top tier.

The Cadillac Formula 1® Team, backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, will rely on Tenneco’s expertise in powertrain and ignition systems. Engineers from both sides will work together to refine advanced technologies for maximum track performance. Tenneco’s involvement extends beyond hardware, offering full technical support to GM’s power unit development.

Jim Voss, Tenneco’s CEO, emphasised that the partnership reflects the company’s strong reputation for high performance and reliable execution. Tyler Epp, Head of Commercial Strategy for the Cadillac team, welcomed the agreement, calling it a significant step forward. The deal aligns with the team’s long-term goal of establishing itself as a contender in Formula 1.

General Motors, the American manufacturer behind Cadillac, is preparing for its 2026 entry into the championship. TWG Global, led by Mark Walter, will oversee business operations—including sponsorship and infrastructure—starting in November 2024. The partnership with Tenneco marks another key move in the team’s preparation for its Formula 1 launch.

The multi-year agreement secures Tenneco’s role in developing critical systems for the Cadillac Formula 1® Team. Their engineering support will directly influence the performance of both the car and GM’s power units. With the 2026 season on the horizon, the team continues to strengthen its technical partnerships ahead of its competitive debut.
