Temporary traffic restraints enacted in Sochi for the installation of new bike lanes
The city of Sochi, Russia, will be hosting the "Mangazeya Three Hills Autumn" cycling series from October 10 to 12. This exciting event will bring a wave of activity to the picturesque mountain cluster.
On October 10, temporary traffic restrictions will be in place from the checkpoint at the bridge over the Laura River to the additional exit of the Olympic Mountain Village, between 14:30 and 17:00. The following day, on October 11, sections of roads from the intersection of Estonskaya Street and Olimpiiskaya Street to Alpijskoe Highway, 30 will be closed from 14:40 to 17:00. On October 12, traffic will be closed from the intersection of Novoe Krasnopolyanskoye Highway and ulitsa Zashchitnikov Kavkaza to the exits of ulitsa Omelova and Dubravnaya ulitsa.
The cycling series features three races with different distances and elevation gains. On October 10, cyclists will tackle a 14-kilometre course with an elevation gain of 850 meters. The next day, a 10-kilometre race with a 600-meter elevation gain is scheduled, and on October 12, the "Russian Hills" race will take place, covering a distance of 73 kilometres with a total elevation gain of 500 meters.
Residents and visitors of the city are advised to take these changes into account when planning trips in this direction during the event dates. However, the event organizers of the "Mangazeya Three Hills Autumn" cycling series have not been publicly disclosed.
