Temporary Prohibition of Dangerous Goods at Multiple Railway Stations in Munich: The Federal Police Directorate Munich has imposed a temporary restriction on dangerous items at eight Bavarian railway stations and two S-Bahn stations in the city of Munich.

Temporary prohibition of hazardous items at eight Bavarian railway stations and two S-Bahn stations in Munich, enforced by the Federal Police Directorate Munich.

The Federal Police has announced a general order prohibiting the carrying of dangerous tools, firearms, imitation firearms, bladed weapons, and knives of all kinds at several train stations and S-Bahn stops in Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg, Regensburg, Würzburg, and Aschaffenburg from December 31, 2024, 12:00 PM to January 1, 2025, 12:00 PM.

This ban is for safety reasons to prevent the commission of violent crimes and to protect passengers and police officers from corresponding attacks. The general orders containing further regulations or exceptions to the ban are available on the Federal Police's website at http://www.bundespolizei.de.

Posters at the mentioned locations will also inform about the carrying ban. The Federal Police's deployment forces will monitor compliance with the ban. In case of violations, the objects can be seized, and an administrative fine can be imposed. Further consequences of violating the ban can include a ban from the premises or a ban from the station.

The information was originally transmitted by the Bundes Police Directorate Munich, via news aktuell. Matthias Knott, responsible for press affairs at the Federal Police Directorate in Munich, is available for inquiries at 089 12149-1019 or [email protected].

The scope of the general order includes all building parts of the main stations, including pedestrian tunnels, adjacent platforms, and all publicly accessible levels. The administrative fine can be imposed independently of any possible criminal or administrative offense procedure under the Weapons Act.
