Temperatures climbing in Portugal

🌞🇵🇹 Heading out in Portugal soon? Here's a heads-up on the weather for the next couple of days! According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), it's going to be a warm and sunny week, but with a few exceptions.

On April 23, the temperatures are expected to spike a few degrees, with the sun shining over most of Portugal. Unfortunately, it's a different story for the Azores archipelago, where some rain is in the forecast.

As for the hottest spots, Santarém, Setúbal, and Beja are projected to reach 25°C, with Braga, Lisbon, and Faro following closely behind at 24°C. On the cooler side, Guarda and Aveiro might not exceed 19°C. In Porto, you can expect around 20°C, and Évora should reach 23°C.

Now, let's fast-forward to April 24. The mercury will rise even higher, with the sun reigning across most of the country. The IPMA predicts a sweltering 28°C for Santarém, 27°C for Braga, Lisbon, Setúbal, and Beja, and 26°C for Vila Real, Leiria, Évora, Sines, and Faro. Don't forget about Porto Alegre, which might hit 22°C.

Aveiro will be the coolest district, topping out at 20°C. In the Azores, the rain will stop, but don't be surprised if the sky remains partly cloudy, much like in Madeira.

Remember, these are the forecasts as of 2023, so conditions might vary in following years. Always double-check the official IPMA website for accurate, updated weather information.

🔍🌐 Curious about the weather forecast for Portugal in 2025? Unfortunately, I couldn't find specific forecasts from IPMA for that year in my current search results. For the most reliable and up-to-date info, make sure to check directly with the IPMA or reach out to local weather services. In general, late April weather in Portugal typically ranges from 12°C to 18°C in the north and 14°C to 22°C in the south, but yearly conditions can differ significantly.

Stay updated on the news regarding Portugal's weather forecast: In 2023, the weather-forecasting institution IPMA predicts a warm and sunny week, with high temperatures in Santarém, Braga, Lisbon, and Faro reaching up to 28°C on April 24. However, for the Azores archipelago, rain is expected on April 23, with partly cloudy skies the following day.
