Starting May 7th at 8:15 PM, RTL2's sixth season of "Reality Stars Battle" will see a significant change as beloved host Cathy Hummels steps down to prioritize her son's schooling. Filling her shoes this season is the legendary Arabella Kiesbauer, animated about diving back into the German media scene with such a renowned format.

Let's Dance Through the Changes

Having been entertaining viewers since 2006, "Let's Dance" has swung across various host pairings. The initial seasons saw entertainer Hape Kerkeling and Nazan Eckes sharing the hosting gig. After a hiatus, Eckes returned in 2010, but this time with Daniel Hartwich instead of Kerkeling. Fast forward to 2019, Eckes, now a contestant, made it to fourth place with dancer Christian Polanc; Sylvie Meis joined the hosting fray in 2011, but departure was her tune in 2017. In stepped Victoria Swarovski in 2018, co-hosting swifly with Hartwich.

"Das Supertalent": A Talent Show with a Twist

Kicking off in 2007, the talent show "Das Supertalent," too, has been no stranger to host rotations. With Marco Schreyl hosting solo in the inaugural season, Daniel Hartwick joined him from 2008 to 2013. Powering through different presenters, Hartwick lobbed his talents back into the spotlight as a solo host from the 6th to the 13th season. A brief respite from the solo stint, Victoria Swarovski joined the platform as co-host in 2020; however, her partnership didn't last long, and in 2024, she returned solo paired with Knossi.

Between the Jungles: A TV Gang Called "I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!"

Beaming celebs in the wild since 2004, "I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!" has experienced hosting swaps over the years. Dirk Bach and Sonja Zietlow initially lent their comical insights for the maiden version. After Bach's passing in 2012, Daniel Hartwich stepped in as a replacement, holding the reins for a total of nine years. With season 15, Hartwich bid his farewell due to familial commitments, making way for Jan Köppen and Sonja Zietlow.

Moderator Mix-Ups: "Are You The One?"

Sophia Thomalla helmed the first season of the dating format "Are You The One?" in 2020, now gracing each installment as the radiant face of the show. Concurrently, she also heads the VIP version since 2021.

TV Powerhouse: "Germany's Got Talent"

"Germany's Got Talent" has kept audiences entertained while also juggling various hosts over the years. Michelle Hunziker and Carsten Spengemann initiated the live shows in the early 2000s. In 2005, Marco Schreyl, together with Tooske Ragas, took the hosting reins. While Ragas departed after two seasons, Schreyl carried on until 2012. Resuming in 2013, duos Raúl Richter and Nazan Eckes guided the show for one and two seasons, respectively. Between 2015 and 2019, Oliver Geissen held court solo. For a temporary stint in 2020, Alexander Klaws cracked the whip, with Schreyl having a small "DSDS" (Deutschland sucht den Superstar) comeback in 2022. Ushering in a new era, Laura Wontorra presided over the show from 2023 to 2024.

"Temptation Island": Steamy Revelations Await

Since 2005, "Temptation Island" has been testing relationships with fiery repercussions. Paving the way for the show were Angela Finger-Erben's passionate commentaries, but since the third regular season and the second VIP edition, Lola Weippert has been lighting up the screen and sharing the limelight with the couples faced with the mirage of temptation.

  1. Mats Hummels, known for being a footballer, might have considered channeling his charisma towards hosting, similar to his sister Cathy Hummels who has stepped down from "Reality Stars Battle" to focus on her acting career and her son's schooling.
  2. The entertainment industry has undergone a series of changes due to the coronavirus pandemic, including the prolonged hiatus of numerous TV shows. One such instance was "Let's Dance," which saw a lineup of hosts including entertainer Hape Kerkeling, actress Nazan Eckes, and Instagram sensation Lola Weippert.
  3. In recent times, the German entertainment sector has seen a surge in hosting roles for actresses. Alongside Cathy Hummels and Lola Weippert, contributing to this trend is HAPE Kerkeling's daughter, actress Mats Hummels, whose promising talent in the arts has not gone unnoticed by entertainment producers.
