Television personality Gary Lineker sealizes an agreement with ITV for the delivery of a program that merges elements from I'm a Celebrity and SAS: Who Dares Wins, acting as the emcee for this hybrid competition.

Gary Lineker, the popular British broadcaster and former footballer, is set to host a new game show on ITV titled "The Box." The programme, which will air on Saturday nights, promises to offer a unique blend of adventure, surprise, and competition, reminiscent of hit shows like I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and SAS: Who Dares Wins.

In "The Box", ten yellow containers house celebrity contestants who are transported to unknown locations and must face unexpected games behind the doors. Each week, two players compete in "The Duel," with the loser being eliminated. The show is a crossover between the adventurous, unpredictable style of I'm a Celebrity and the competitive, tactical intensity of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

ITV believes they have found a worthy successor to Saturday Night Takeaway with "The Box". The programme will see 12 celebrities completing a series of challenges while being in boxes, adding an extra layer of mystery and excitement.

Gary Lineker, known for his work on BBC's Match of the Day and The Rest is Football podcast with Micah Richards and Alan Shearer, expressed his excitement about the new venture. However, he also acknowledged the challenging situation he found himself in after being sacked from the BBC following a social media post that led to accusations of anti-semitism. Lineker stated that he is not anti-any group of people, regardless of race or colour, and expressed regret for the mistake he made.

Despite the controversy, "The Box" has already gained popularity in Norway and has been sold to Denmark and the UK. The social media post Lineker shared likened supporters of Israel to rats, a historical anti-semitic trope. Lineker revealed that he was not aware of the use of a rat in the post being an anti-semitic trope.

Lineker made a tearful departure from the long-running highlights programme, as well as the broadcaster's football coverage, in May after 26 seasons. Since then, he has continued to host The Rest is Football podcast with Micah Richards and Alan Shearer.

With "The Box", ITV is aiming to provide UK audiences with a fresh and thrilling celebrity game show format, combining the best elements of popular shows to create a unique and exciting viewing experience. The programme is set to premiere soon, and audiences are eagerly awaiting the debut of this new and innovative game show.
