Garden TV show terminated - Television Garden has been turned off.

The popular German live TV show, ZDF-Fernsehgarten, was cancelled on Sunday, August 1, 2025, following a storm disruption on July 27, 2025 [1]. Instead of the regular Fernsehgarten broadcast, ZDF will air coverage of "Die Finals 2025" on that day [1].

The storm, which occurred in Mainz, forced the evacuation of the TV Garden set last Sunday, and host Andrea Kiewel (60) had to improvise. She temporarily broadcast from a mini-studio and later outdoors, but without a regular audience [1].

As of August 1, 13 out of 20 episodes of the TV Garden have aired since early May. Seven more episodes are scheduled until the end of September, including one cancellation on September 14 [1].

The 25th anniversary of the TV Garden for Andrea Kiewel is this year. She took over as host in 2000, following previous hosts Ilona Christen and Ramona Leiß [1]. The TV Garden show, broadcast by ZDF, has been running since 1986 [1].

The upcoming themed shows for the rest of 2025 include: - August 10: Schlager party - August 7: Rock in the garden - August 17: Miami Vibes - August 24: Discofox - August 28: Oktoberfest - August 31: Time travel - September 21: Let the choirs sing [1]

During the sports broadcast from August 3 onwards, numerous championship titles will be awarded in various sports, as ZDF will cover the finals of the multisport event in Dresden [1].

The TV Garden show is a live show, and in 2019, it was also moved indoors during a traditional edition due to bad weather [1]. Stay tuned for more updates on the ZDF-Fernsehgarten and the exciting events to come!

The Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of the environment, perhaps including measures to prevent thunderstorm disruptions like the one that forced the cancellation of ZDF-Fernsehgarten's entertainment schedule on August 1, 2025. In the meantime, ZDF will air coverage of "Die Finals 2025" instead of the regular Fernsehgarten broadcast on that day.
