Teen’s NHL dream comes true with Blues’ one-day contract
The St. Louis Blues welcomed their newest member on Thursday—a very special addition. Brendan Bedwell, a teenager from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, signed a one-day contract with the team. His day began with a morning skate at Enterprise Center before joining the squad for practice.
Bedwell arrived early at the arena to take part in the Blues’ morning session. He watched the team warm up from the bench before stepping onto the ice himself. There, he took shots on goalie Jordan Binnington and received passes from captain Brayden Schenn.
The teenager also joined the players for a film session, where head coach Jim Montgomery welcomed him. Later, he signed his one-day contract template in front of forward Robert Thomas and play-by-play announcer Chris Kerber. His experience won’t end there. On Friday, Bedwell will be in the broadcast booth during the Blues’ game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Enterprise Center.
The Blues gave Bedwell a full NHL experience, from practice drills to team meetings. His day included time on the ice, a contract signing, and a spot in the broadcast booth. The club made sure his visit was one to remember.
