15-Year-Olds Shock Elderly Woman with Airsoft Gun - Teens brandish fake pistol at elderly woman in Bayreuth attack

Two 15-year-olds pointed a soft-air pistol at an elderly woman's face in Bayreuth on Thursday morning. The incident happened on a bridge near the Rotmaincenter shopping mall. The teens then fled toward the mall, laughing as they claimed the weapon was only a toy.

The woman immediately reported the threat to a nearby police patrol. Officers launched a manhunt, with both uniformed and plainclothes units searching the area.

The teens were arrested shortly after on a bike path behind the shopping centre. One still had the soft-air pistol in his possession, while the other's weapon was found close by.

Criminal proceedings have since been opened against both boys. After questioning, they were released into their parents' custody.

No official statistics exist for similar incidents in Bavaria over the past year. Police do not track public data on youth-related soft-air weapon cases, and media reports mention only isolated events.

The two 15-year-olds now face legal consequences for their actions. The elderly woman was unharmed, but the incident has raised concerns about the use of replica weapons in public spaces. Police have not released further details on the ongoing investigation.
