In Lage, Lippe district, a chilling scene unfolded when firefighters discovered a gruesome sight in a rented apartment. The charred remains of a man (†40) were found amidst the ashes, leaving authorities baffled. The public prosecutor's office in Detmold is currently investigating the case, with two teenagers (18, 19) in custody for manslaughter, attempted murder, and aggravated arson.

This heart-wrenching incident happened on the outskirts of Lage, in a six-party house, around 4:40 a.m. on November 19. Smoke billowed from the ground-floor apartment, prompting a swift response from the fire department. Residents from the upper floors were safely evacuated, while the fire was quickly extinguished.

Upon investigating the burnt debris, rescuers made a horrifying discovery - the man was already deceased before the fire ignited. The disheartening truth emerged during the autopsy: he was a victim of a vicious crime, and the apartment along with his body were doused with an accelerant and set ablaze. The detectives established a homicide squad to delve deeper into the grim circumstances.

The public prosecutor's office and the Bielefeld criminal investigation department have kept their cards close to their chest, refraining from disclosing more details at this point. It was revealed, however, that they interrogated the two teenagers, who were already on the police's radar, on November 25.

Searches at their residences supported the strong suspicion against the duo. The house, now uninhabitable, has been cordoned off by the police. Fortunately, the other residents, who were saved by the swift action of the fire department, are being accommodated by their family and friends.

Motives and specifics behind this tragic incident have yet to be disclosed by the investigators. To gain a deeper understanding of the case, it is advisable to consult local news sources or official reports from law enforcement agencies, which would typically offer more comprehensive information.
