Teenagers are captivated by the mini-concert of Adam Taylor, with Zartmann stealing the show at the New Pop Festival held in Baden-Baden
New Pop Festival Delights Thousands in Baden-Baden
The New Pop Festival in Baden-Baden was a resounding success this weekend, with a diverse lineup of performances and a lively atmosphere that drew crowds from far and wide.
On the second day of the festival, the artist who celebrated his 20th stage anniversary remained unidentified in the search results, but he was a guest on the Star-Talk. Another notable performer was British singer-songwriter ADMT, who delivered a captivating mini-concert.
Ten-year-old Lisa cried with joy upon seeing her idol, Zartmann, on stage. A kind bodyguard even allowed Lisa to move closer to the stairs where Zartmann was performing. Meanwhile, Brigitte Schulte and her daughter Merle met some girls at the festival last year and made plans to meet again. They were among the many festival-goers who came from all over Germany, including a group from Satrup in the far north who greeted Michael Schulte, a singer born in Dollerup, as practically their neighbor.
The concert stage echoed with the heartfelt lyrics of ADMT, whose music combines elements of R&B, indie-pop, and drum and bass. Visitors found his music absolutely listenable, and he even took time to give autographs and chat with his fans.
Aki Bosse, a musician celebrating his 20-year stage anniversary, also made an appearance. From prepared preserving jars, he drew "Wegmoments" using a kitchen tong: hidden inside were notes detailing significant life events. At the concert stage, Aki Bosse's song "Der letzte Tanz" was celebrated. Aki also joined the couch for Star-Talk and shared his passion for cooking and his fondness for using various types of pepper in the kitchen.
As the evening approached, the various lounges of the party nights at the festival began to fill up between 8 PM and 10 PM. Saturday's program also featured performances by Luvcat and Il Civetto, who took to the stage after ADMT and Zartmann.
Sabine Petzold, a local, was taking care of the fluid supply for thirsty visitors at one of the stands. She appreciated the level of the festival, its well-designed stands, great music, and international audience. Sabine also expressed hope that the New Pop Festival will continue for the next 30 years.
In light of the increased attendance, additional security personnel were deployed in Baden-Baden on Friday to ensure the safety of all festival-goers. However, some cyclists showed disregard near the Kurhaus colonnade, refusing to dismount and push their bikes and deliberately riding their bicycles across the grounds in the afternoon.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the New Pop Festival was overall a huge success, with visitors praising the well-organised event and the high-quality music on offer. As the festival came to a close, festival-goers left with memories of a fantastic weekend and the anticipation of next year's event.
