NYPD Arrests 16-Year-Old Student Over School Threat in Queens

In a significant development, the NYPD has arrested a 10th-grader from Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, Queens, New York, following a school threat. The incident occurred on Thursday.

According to reports, the threat was made on Instagram, where a student allegedly posted a message about shooting up the school. The disturbing post, which featured schoolwork, was discovered by the FBI around 10 a.m. The FBI promptly traced the account holder's information and forwarded it to the police.

Upon receiving the information, the NYPD swung into action. Officers arrived at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School approximately an hour and a half later, where they found a loaded 9mm semiautomatic pistol in the student's backpack. The pistol, it is alleged, was the same one mentioned in the Instagram threat.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch was present during the arrest. No further details about the student's identity or the school have been disclosed. However, it is confirmed that the school where the arrest took place is the same high school against which the threat was made.

At the time of writing, no charges against the teen were immediately detailed by the police. The search results do not provide any information about the name of the NYPD leader involved in the arrest.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of taking such threats seriously. The NYPD urges anyone with information related to potential threats or any suspicious activities to contact the authorities immediately. The safety and well-being of our students and schools remain a top priority.
