"I reckon I can make it, if I'm lucky."

In Hamburg, Angel caused quite the stir by defeating Davis Cup player Jan-Lennard Struff on clay. Stuttgart, meanwhile, saw him secure his professional grass debut on Tuesday against James Duckworth in a nail-biting three-set match. One more step towards his dream, he's now gunning for a spot in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
"Can't wait to play under all those peeps again in the next round!" he enthused, ready for his battle against the seventh-seeded and foremost favorite, American Alex Michelsen.
To bag a spot in the Grand Slam tournament in New York, Angel will likely need to boost his world ranking by about 50 places. He's currently ranked 281st.
The final Grand Slam tournament of the season in New York sets up shop from August 24 to September 7. The qualifiers will kick off a week prior to the main event's start.
