Suspected Car Thieves Land in Ditch Due to Snow - Teen suspects crash stolen car after crime spree in Kronach

Three young men—two aged 18 and one aged 19—face charges after a series of crimes in Kronach. Police arrested them following a crash while attempting to flee from officers. The group is suspected of car theft, burglary and possession of illegal items.

The incident began when the trio allegedly stole a car in Kronach. They fitted it with a licence plate taken from another vehicle. While driving under the influence of drugs, the 19-year-old—who had no licence—lost control on an icy road and crashed.

Police searched the suspects and found prohibited items, including brass knuckles. The 19-year-old is also accused of breaking into a house in Mitwitz, where he allegedly stole a safe containing gold and silver bars worth €45,000. No names have been released in connection with the burglary.

A judge has since ordered the 19-year-old to be held in pretrial detention.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. The stolen car, fake licence plate and illegal items were recovered by police. Authorities are still examining the full extent of the crimes linked to the group.
