15-Year-Old Speeds Past Kindergarten on Modified Two-Wheeler - Teen caught speeding at 70 kph in a 30 zone on a modified bike
A 15-year-old has been caught speeding through a 30 kph zone in Litzendorf on a heavily modified two-wheeler. The teen, who was riding without a licence, reached nearly 70 kph near a kindergarten and school. Authorities have now launched legal action against both the boy and his father.
The incident took place when the teen was spotted riding a modified vehicle originally designed as a low-power moped. After alterations, it could reach speeds of up to 76 kph—far beyond legal limits for its class.
The boy now faces two separate legal cases: one for driving without a licence and another for breaking traffic regulations. His 45-year-old father is also under investigation for allegedly permitting his son to ride the modified bike without proper authorisation.
Under German law, parents can be held criminally liable if they knowingly allow minors to use illegally modified cars. Charges may include aiding an offence or neglecting supervision, with penalties ranging from fines to up to five years in prison. However, such cases are rarely documented publicly, as authorities assess each situation individually.
The teen's modified car has been seized, and both he and his father must now appear in court. The case highlights the risks of illegal car modifications and unlicensed driving, particularly in areas with vulnerable road users. Legal proceedings will determine the final consequences for both individuals.
