TEDxALBUQUERQUE resumes this month following a three-year break

Albuquerque, New Mexico - TEDxABQ is set to return to the city on September 27, following a three-year hiatus. The event, which will be held in a theater-in-the-round, aims to cater to a new, modern audience.

TEDxABQ first came to Albuquerque around 15 years ago, making it one of the first 30 cities globally to be licensed to hold TEDx events. This year, organisers Alex Andrego Adams and curator Meghan Pickard are working hard to revive the series.

The event will feature twelve speakers, covering topics such as science, technology, hospitality, and art. Notable speakers include Gail Rubin, a death and grief educator, who will give her second TEDxABQ talk at the event. Rubin, known for her unique business expenses, which include anything with a skull or a skeleton on it, will speak on medically-assisted death, a topic that is legal in New Mexico. Her presentation will be preserved and shared online.

Rubin is not the only interesting speaker at the event. Plus-size influencer Jen McLellan will present on weight bias in health care, and 10-year-old Eulises Crespo will give a talk on curiosity and activism.
