Hammer played host to the 53rd Hammer Spring Regatta, where DJK Ruhrwacht e.V.'s Canoe Racing Team demonstrated a strong performance. The team secured multiple podium finishes across various categories, with notable achievements from Yannick Glittenberg, Leif Thalhäuser, Klara Dix, Marie Luise Mitteldorf, and others.
Yannick Glittenberg clinched a triumphant victory in the Men's Single Kayak over 500m short distance, setting an impressive pace on the Datteln-Hamm Canal. He was honored with both the winner's plaque and an honorary trophy from the event organizers.
Leif Thalhäuser excelled in the Junior Men's category, qualifying for the final races in the 125m, 200m sprint, and 500m short distance events. Despite a strong start, he consistently placed second in each contest.
