Teacher's Day: 'Mentors on Screen' Movie Marathon Celebrates Educators' Impact
In celebration of Teacher's Day, a special movie marathon is being organised. The event, titled 'Mentors on Screen', will showcase films that highlight the impact of educators on their students' lives.
Kicking off the marathon is 'Till Monday', a Soviet classic set in a regular secondary school. The film follows students navigating teenage problems with the guidance of their mentors.
Next, viewers will be transported to the 1950s Welton Academy in 'Dead Poets Society'. Here, an inspirational English teacher encourages his students to think independently and seize the day.
'The Chorus', directed by Christophe Barratier, is a French film about a music teacher who transforms the lives of children at an orphanage by forming a choir.
Lastly, 'The Breakfast Club' brings together five high school students serving detention. Through open discussions, they explore their relationships with parents and others, learning from one another.
Also featured is 'Big Change', a multi-series melodrama centred around Nestor Severov, a dedicated teacher at a night school.
The 'Mentors on Screen' marathon aims to remind us of the profound influence teachers have on our lives. Each film is an ode to educators who open up new worlds and inspire us every day. Viewers are encouraged to watch these films and take a moment to congratulate their favorite teachers.
