TDG Gold uncovers massive sulphide deposit beneath historic British Columbia mine
TDG Gold Corp. has uncovered a new mineralised zone at its Anyox Project in British Columbia. The discovery, named the 4300 Zone, lies beneath the historic Hidden Creek Mine and shows strong copper, zinc, silver, and cobalt content, with notable gold price potential. Recent drilling and geophysical surveys suggest the find could be part of a much larger sulphide deposit.
The Hidden Creek Mine was first discovered in 1901 and operated between 1914 and 1935. During that time, it produced around 22 million tons of copper ore grading 1.57%. Despite studies in the mid-to-late 20th century, no modern exploration took place until 2024.
In 2025, TDG conducted a deep-penetrating electromagnetic survey, identifying a large, highly conductive anomaly beneath the old mine. Follow-up drilling confirmed a new lens of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralisation. The rocks and mineralisation match the characteristics of Besshi VMS systems, which are typically copper-rich with smaller amounts of zinc, gold, silver, and cobalt.
Drilling in the 4300 Zone has already yielded promising results. Hole ANY-25-002 intersected 25.08 metres of massive sulphides grading 2.1% copper equivalent, including a higher-grade section of 14.80 metres at 2.5% copper equivalent. A third hole, ANY-25-003, was drilled 80 metres further south, extending the known mineralisation. Geologists believe these intersections represent the outer edges of a much larger sulphide lens, still open for expansion in all directions.
Currently, geophysical crews are carrying out downhole electromagnetic surveys in the two completed holes. The data will guide the next phase of drilling, set to resume in March 2026.
The 4300 Zone discovery marks the first modern exploration success at Hidden Creek in decades. With further drilling planned and geophysical surveys underway, TDG aims to define the full extent of the sulphide lens. The results could significantly expand the project's resource potential, with potential implications for the gold price.
