TC Asberg extends an invitation for the 14th annual charity sports event with a history of kindness
The 2023 Nuhlen & GHP Tennis Cup is set to return to Sportpark 2 in Asberg, Moers from August 16 to August 25. This annual charity tennis tournament, a staple of the regional tennis calendar in the Moers district, is now in its 14th year.
Organized by the TC Asberg, the tournament will feature both singles and doubles matches, with one man and one woman playing on each side of the court in mixed format. The event is open to players from various clubs, and registration is still possible via www.tennis.de, with the deadline set for August 13.
The proceeds from this year's tournament will benefit the Hospice "Haus Sonnenschein" in Rheinberg and the kindergarten "Asbär" in Asberg. In 2024, over 100 players from 13 clubs participated, and the tournament raised more than 2,000 euros in donations.
Joern Becker from TC Asberg expressed his pleasure with the high demand for the tournament, stating, "We are thrilled with the registration numbers. It's a testament to the community's support for this event and our charitable causes."
Players will compete under fair playing conditions, with the performance classes of the players being evaluated in the cup, which can affect their nationwide ranking. The tournament is held alternately on the courts of the TC Sportpark Asberg and the TV Vennikel, providing excellent facilities for the event.
The Nuhlen & GHP Tennis Cup is a unique blend of sportsmanship, community spirit, and philanthropy, attracting tennis enthusiasts and players alike. By participating, players can support benevolent institutions in the region while enjoying a friendly yet competitive environment.
