Taylor Swift has announced her upcoming 12th studio album, titled "The Life of a Showgirl". The big reveal came during an episode of the New Heights podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.
In the podcast teaser, Taylor pulled out a blurred vinyl of the new album, giving fans a sneak peek of what's to come. The album's artwork is currently under wraps, but fans are already speculating about its theme, with many pointing to the orange outfits Taylor wore in recent photos as a clue.
Taylor's website had a countdown to 12:12 a.m. Eastern time on August 12, fueling excitement among her fans. Simultaneously, Taylor Nation, the singer's official management team's Instagram account, shared a carousel of 12 images from her Eras Tour on Monday morning.
Taylor's eleventh album, The Tortured Poets Department, was released last year and became the most-streamed album in a day on Spotify. The album was the result of writing "so much tortured poetry" in the past two years, according to Taylor herself.
Interestingly, Taylor Swift bought back the rights to her first six albums in May, marking the end of her years-long, highly publicized battle over the ownership of her music. To celebrate the moment, Taylor shared a photo of herself surrounded by her first six albums.
The album is available for pre-order on her website, but the release date for the new music has not yet been revealed. Fans will have to wait until October 3, 2025, for the official release of "The Life of a Showgirl".
