In the third season of the popular teen drama "The Summer I Turned Pretty," Taylor Swift's music continues to play a significant role. The show, based on Jenny Han's best-selling series, has been using Swift's songs since its first season, and the trend continues in the latest instalment.

The season opener, Episode 1, featured Swift's latest single "You're Losing Me" from her recent album "Midnights." The trailer for the season, released earlier, had already hinted at this with the use of "Red (Taylor's Version)" from her rerecorded works.

Swift's double anthology album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which was released during the hiatus between seasons, has been a rich source of songs for the show. "loml" and "False God" were used in Episode 7 and 6 respectively. In Episode 10, "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" and "The 1" made an appearance.

The trailer for Season 3 also used "Daylight" from Swift's album "Lover," a song that was previously used in the trailer for Season 2. In Season 2, "Sweet Nothing," "Delicate (Taylor's Version),""Last Kiss (Taylor's Version),""Snow on the Beach," and "Exile" were used.

Intriguingly, episodes 2 through 5 of the current season didn't feature any Taylor Swift songs. Fans have been speculating that this could be intentional, possibly for symbolism. However, the absence was short-lived as "Dress" from "Reputation" and "Out of the Woods" from "1989" were used in Episode 11.

Swift's personal connection to the show is noteworthy. In an interview, she revealed that the show resonated with her, and she was thrilled to have her music integrated into the narrative. This connection was evident in the use of "Cardigan" and "Us (feat. Taylor Swift)" in Episode 8 of Season 3, and "Robin" in Episode 7 of "The Summer I Turned Pretty."

The show's creator, Jenny Han, has secured permission to use certain songs from Swift's rerecorded works that haven't been released yet, promising more of Swift's music in future episodes.

Swift reclaimed ownership of her music catalog in May, a move that has been celebrated by her fans. This development, coupled with the continued use of her music in "The Summer I Turned Pretty," is a testament to the enduring appeal of her songs.

As the season progresses, fans eagerly anticipate which of Swift's unreleased songs will make their way into the series. Tracks like "The Fate of Ophelia," "Elizabeth Taylor," "Opalite," "Father Figure," and recent songs like "Hope," "Golden Hour," and "Sway" could potentially feature.

With Swift's music adding depth and emotion to "The Summer I Turned Pretty," fans are in for an engaging and musically rich season.
