Taylor Swift's illustrious album release party, featuring the premiere of her 'Fate of Ophelia' music video and insightful commentary on the album, apropos to hit cinemas in October.
Taylor Swift is set to make a comeback on the big screen this October, with the release of her latest event film, "Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl." The movie, which will premiere on October 3 and run until October 5, is expected to be a global phenomenon, with screenings scheduled in over 100 countries.
The event, which is not a documentary as many had speculated, will feature Swift's "never-before-seen personal reflections" about the new songs from her upcoming album, "The Life of a Showgirl." The movie will also premiere the first music video from the album, offering fans an exclusive first look at the new material.
In addition to the music, the event will include "cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music," providing fans with a deeper understanding of the creative process behind the new album. The film will also feature footage shot behind the scenes at the "Ophelia" video shoot, offering a glimpse into the making of the music video.
The event will be an 89-minute "release party" event, and tickets for showings in the U.S. go on sale today at 12:12 p.m. ET. AMC guests are allowed to sing and dance during the event, but are asked to refrain from standing on seats, blocking aisles or stairs to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees.
The movie theater operators have already had good reason to love Swift, as her previous film, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," is the highest-grossing concert film in history. The "Eras Tour" movie, which was distributed by AMC Theatres Distribution and went to Disney+ for streaming after its theatrical run, grossed $181 million at the domestic box office and $262 million worldwide.
Ticket sales for countries outside the U.S., including Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, will go on sale this coming Tuesday. Other countries not included on the initial list will get the film on a later weekend in October, to be announced on or around Oct. 3.
"Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl" will barely be on screens for a fraction of the time the "Eras Tour" movie was, but is sure to be a must-see event for Swift fans around the world. The film will offer a unique and intimate look at the making of Swift's latest album, and is not to be missed.
