Taylor Swift unveils her 12th studio album, titled 'The Life of a Showgirl'
Pop sensation Taylor Swift has unveiled her 12th studio album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, set to release on October 3, 2025[1][2][3][4]. The album, which was conceived during the European leg of her 2024 Eras Tour, will feature production by Taylor Swift herself, Max Martin, and Shellback.
The announcement was made on Travis Kelce's podcast, where Swift revealed the album cover, blurred out in the clip. In the same clip, Kelce shouted "TS 12", hinting at the upcoming release. The clip was shared with Kelce's brother Jason Kelce[5].
The album will be available in multiple formats, including CD, cassette, and vinyl LP, and is already available for preorder[2]. The tracklist includes songs such as "The Fate of Ophelia," "Elizabeth Taylor," and the title track "The Life of a Showgirl", which features Sabrina Carpenter[2].
Swift has been busy rerecording her first six albums and releasing them as "Taylor's Version". As of the current information, "Reputation" and her self-titled debut have not been released as Taylor's Versions[6]. She has already released new versions of "Fearless" (2008), "Red" (2012), "Speak Now" (2010), and "1989" (2014)[7].
The release of "The Life of a Showgirl" comes after Swift made history last summer by having the highest-grossing tour of all-time, the Eras Tour. She also became the first solo artist to perform at London's Wembley Stadium eight times on a single tour[8].
In May 2023, Swift purchased the rights to all of her concert films, music videos, album art, photography, and unreleased songs, regaining control over her back catalog[9].
