Taylor Swift Announces New Album 'The Life of a Showgirl,' Set for Release on October 3
Pop sensation Taylor Swift has announced her highly-anticipated new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which is set to hit shelves on October 3. The announcement was made online on Friday, sending fans into a frenzy.
The album, which is Swift's 13th studio release, will mark her first album since regaining control over her entire body of work. Last year, she purchased her catalog of recordings from Shamrock Capital, a move that has been much celebrated by her fans.
The album will be a follow-up to last year's 'The Tortured Poets Department.' Fans can expect a mix of new music, behind-the-scenes footage, new lyric videos, and stories behind each song in the music video that accompanied the exclusive world premiere of 'The Fate of Ophelia.'
The theatrical release of 'The Life of a Showgirl' will take place in select theaters on October 3, 4, and 5. Tickets for these showings are available now, with a price of $12.
Interestingly, 'The Life of a Showgirl' holds the title of the highest-grossing tour of all time, raking in over $2.2 billion across two years and five continents during its release. The album was announced during the 2024 Grammys.
SiriusXM will play Taylor Swift's music nonstop until October 3, followed by the entirety of 'The Life of a Showgirl.' The album will then be available for 24-hour listening on SiriusXM for 13 days before its official release.
The producer of Taylor Swift's original recording label Big Machine Records, from which her catalog was initially released and which she later acquired, is Scott Borchetta. The masters were sold after his ownership to Scooter Braun and then to Shamrock Holdings before Swift bought them back in 2025. However, the amount paid by Swift for her catalog of recordings was not disclosed.
'The Life of a Showgirl' is sure to be a hit, and fans are eagerly waiting for its release. Be sure to grab your tickets for the theatrical release and tune in to SiriusXM to get a sneak peek of the new album.
