Fourth Year in a Row: Taylor Swift Tops Global Sales Charts - Taylor Swift Claims Fourth Straight Global Artist of the Year Title in 2025

Taylor Swift, the renowned artist, has once again dominated the global music scene, securing the title of Global Artist of the Year for the fourth year running. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) also named her the highest-earning artist of 2025, capping off a record-breaking streak.

Swift's unmatched success in 2025 came from two major releases: her Eras tour documentary and the album The Life of a Showgirl. These projects pushed her to the top of the global sales charts, a position she has held since 2021.

A key factor in her dominance has been her re-recording strategy, dubbed 'Taylor's Version.' Between 2021 and 2025, these re-releases alone sold 82.3 million units worldwide. Albums like Fearless (Taylor's Version) surged to number one in 2021, while 1989 (Taylor's Version) repeated the feat in 2023. Alongside these, original releases such as Midnights (2.3 million first-week sales in 2022), The Tortured Poets Department (2024), and The Life of a Showgirl (2025) kept her momentum strong. By March 2026, her total certified global sales reached 342.8 million units.

Her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce also drew media attention, though her chart success remained tied to her music and streaming performance rather than personal milestones.

With six Global Artist of the Year awards—four of them consecutive—Swift's influence on the music industry shows no signs of slowing. Her combination of re-recorded albums, new releases, and high-profile projects continues to set records. The data confirms her position as the most commercially successful artist of the decade.
