Rosalie Thomass to Assume Role as 'Tatort' Commissioner in Franconia Region - Tatort Commissioner post is filled by Rosalie Thomass in Franconia region.

The Munich-born actress, Rosalie Thomass, with a zest that echoes her dynamic performances, speaks of her new career leap with as much vigor as we're accustomed: "I'm working with a top-tier crew," she beams. Diving right into the native dialect, she adds, "I'm downright proud."

Taking the baton from her fellow actor Dagmar Manzel, who's been part of the team since 2015 as Commissioner Paula Ringelhahn and bid adieu in a critically acclaimed farewell episode last fall, Thomass steps in as a fitting successor, showcasing a myriad of acting talents. Her debut role in the 2005 BR police thriller "110" - "He Should Die," helmed by film legend Dominik Graf, marked her breakthrough, netting her several promotional accolades. She shone yet brightly in Doris Dörrie's "Greetings from Fukushima," winning the Bavarian Film Award and being nominated for the German Film Award, and in Hans Steinbichler's "An Unheard Woman," earning the German Acting Award and the Grimme Award. Her comedic side, essential for the role in the Franconian "Tatort," also came to the forefront in the two film adaptations of the "Kangaroo Chronicles."

"Tatort" Universe Undergoes a Transition

The ARD "Tatort" realm is presently undergoing a transformation of epic proportions. Never before have so many Seasoned investigator roles, prime gigs in German TV, vacated en masse. Munich's Miro Nemec and Udo Wachtveitl, Batic and Leitmayr since 1991 and starring in a whopping 98 episodes, are passing the mantle to their peers Carlo Ljubek and Ferdinand Hofer, with the latter having primarily appeared as an assistant prior to this. In Frankfurt, Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanovic are presently shooting their inaugural episodes. Following Axel Milberg's sensational exit as Borowski in Kiel, Karoline Schuch will step in come autumn. The Investigator spots in Vienna remain unfilled.

Rosalie Thomass eagerly anticipates shaping her character, Chief Inspector Emilia Rathgeber. Claudia Luzius, the responsible BR editor, aptly describes Thomass as her "partner in crime." However, "Tatort" enthusiasts must temper their excitement, as Fabian Hinrichs will appear as Felix Voss in the eleventh episode "I See You" before Thomass debuts in an episode set to air in 2026, with filming scheduled for summer 2025.
