Tator Commissionership to be Assumed by Thomas in Franconia Region

Munich/Nuremberg (dpa) - Get ready for a fresh face in the Franconian "Tatort" crime series! Actress Rosalie Thomass, known for her captivating performances, will be joining the cast as Kriminalhauptkommissarin Emilia Rathgeber. Starting from July, she'll be teaming up with Fabian Hinrichs, who plays Kriminalhauptkommissar Felix Voss. The Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR) confirmed the exciting news.

This new addition completes the investigative team of the Franconian "Tatort" following Dagmar Manzel's departure. Thomass shared her excitement about the new challenge, saying, "I'm thrilled about this new opportunity and can't wait to be a part of creating some truly exceptional films. In my opinion, the 'Tatort' from Franconia stands for superior film quality." Her debut is set for the twelfth "Tatort" case, although a broadcast date has yet to be announced.

Born and raised in Munich in 1987, Rosalie Thomass first gained fame in 2005 with her role in the "Polizeiruf 110" crime series "Er sollte tot," directed by Dominik Graf. She's also made appearances in Doris Dörrie's "Grüße aus Fukushima" and Hans Steinbichler's "Eine unerhörte Frau."

Gritty and Genuine

The BR program director, Bettina Ricklefs, described Thomass's character, Emilia Rathgeber, as a "down-to-earth investigator with a heart that beats wildly for justice, whose vivacity is a breath of fresh air for everyone."

Dagmar Manzel, who played Hauptkommissarin Paula Ringelhahn, and Fabian Hinrichs had been a formidable duo in the Franconian "Tatort" for years. Manzel's run came to an end with the tenth episode last October. In the eleventh Franconian "Tatort," titled "Ich sehe dich," Hinrichs will investigate alone, with Eli Wasserscheid steadfastly supporting him as Wanda Goldwasser. This episode is expected to air in the autumn.
