The Tata Altroz, a compact hatchback manufactured by Tata Motors, has recently been awarded a five-star safety rating by the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP). This prestigious recognition is a testament to the vehicle's robust safety features.

In the frontal tests, the Altroz performed exceptionally well. With a score of 7.90 out of 8 points for a 18-month-old dummy and a perfect eight points for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies, the Altroz demonstrated its ability to protect occupants in various scenarios. Furthermore, in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Altroz scored an impressive 15.55 out of 16 points, indicating excellent performance.

However, the Altroz has not been tested in side deformable barrier or side pole impact tests under the Bharat NCAP. In the side test for a 18-month-old dummy, the Altroz scored four out of four points, but it only received marginal protection to the chest in the side deformable barrier test.

Standard safety equipment in the Tata Altroz includes six airbags, ISOFIX anchorages in the rear seats for child occupant protection, and advanced features such as ABS with EBD, ESC, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.

While the Tata Altroz has received a high safety rating, it is important to note that its rival, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, has only received a four-star safety rating from the Bharat NCAP. On the other hand, the Hyundai i20 has not been tested under the Bharat NCAP as of now.

The Tata Altroz facelift was launched this year, and it is available for comparison with other vehicles such as the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Renault Triber, and Tata Tiago NRG on various websites.

In addition to the Tata Altroz, Tata Motors is also working on other upcoming models. The Tata Punch Facelift, with a projected price range of ₹ 6 - 11 Lakhs, is one such model that car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting.

In conclusion, the Tata Altroz's five-star safety rating from the Bharat NCAP underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety of its occupants. With its robust safety features, the Altroz stands out as a reliable choice for those seeking a compact hatchback with superior safety standards.
