Tandem Bank appoints Ryan Heaps as CFO to drive sustainable growth
Tandem Bank has named Ryan Heaps as its new Chief Financial Officer after receiving regulatory approval. The appointment comes as part of the bank's push to strengthen its leadership team for future growth. Heaps joined the company in 2022 through the acquisition of Oplo, a finance firm where he had led the department since 2018.
Heaps initially became part of Tandem when the bank acquired Oplo. Before the takeover, he had already spent four years as Head of Finance at the firm. Since joining, he has played a key role in shaping Tandem's long-term strategy.
CEO Neil Chandler has focused on assembling a senior team to support the bank's expansion. Under his leadership, Tandem has grown its assets under management to over £1.5 billion by 2026. The bank has also seen a sharp rise in green and sustainable home improvement lending, climbing from £68.2 million in 2019 to £801.5 million in 2026.
No further details have been released about changes in Tandem's market position or customer numbers since the Oplo acquisition.
Heaps now takes on the CFO role as Tandem continues its push into sustainable lending. The bank's assets and green loan portfolio have both expanded significantly in recent years. His experience in finance and strategy will support the next stage of the company's development.
