The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, currently undefeated with a record of 2-0, are facing a tough challenge as they prepare to host the New York Jets, who are struggling with a 0-2 record. However, the Bucs will be without three starting offensive linemen and two key wide receivers due to injuries.

Cody Mauch, the starting right guard for the Buccaneers, sustained a season-ending knee injury during Monday's game against the Houston Texans. Mauch had started all 39 games (including playoffs) since being selected by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

To fill the void, veteran guard Sua Opeta has been signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. Opeta was competing to be a starter in Tampa Bay's 2024 training camp when he suffered a torn ACL. He was released by the Buccaneers after returning to camp in August, but has now returned to the team.

The Buccaneers also lost right tackle Luke Goedeke to a foot injury on Monday. Charlie Heck replaced Goedeke, and Graham Barton has been shuffled to left tackle. Ben Bredeson is moving to center, and Michael Jordan is starting at left guard.

Rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka, who had three touchdown receptions in two games for the Buccaneers prior to his injury, is also out due to hip and groin injuries. Chris Godwin, another wide receiver for the Buccaneers, is working back from a 2024 ankle injury and is not yet ready for a full workload.

All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs is still working his way back after having knee surgery in July and is considered unlikely to return this week. He is currently only practicing in a limited capacity, but an appearance as soon as Week 5 is possible.

The injuries sustained by the Buccaneers' offensive linemen and wide receivers have been a significant concern at One Buc Place this week. The team will need to rely on their depth and resilience to overcome these challenges and secure a victory against the New York Jets.
