In an unprecedented move, the much-anticipated Tamil film, Coolie, has shattered advance booking records, earning over Rs 100 crore before its official theatrical release on August 14, 2025.
Reports suggest that the film's pre-release business has surpassed Rs 250 crore globally, a record-breaking figure driven by high ticket sales in India and overseas.
In India alone, advance bookings crossed Rs 50 crore four days before release, with a staggering Rs 27 crore booked just for the first day. Overseas advance sales were exceptionally strong, generating at least Rs 41 crore, including around Rs 14 crore from the North American market, where over 55,000 tickets were sold for premiere shows.
