Who's Fabian Hambüchen, you might ask? A Brief Bio. 📜
Birth: October 25, 1987, in Bergisch Gladbach, North Rhine-WestphaliaResidence: GießenMarital status: Hitched to fitness trainer Viktoria Hambüchen-Diesterbeck
Fabian's story began as a Adorably little student of art gymnastics at age four, guided by his dad, the former gymnast himself, Wolfgang Hambüchen. A prodigy from the get-go, Fabian snatched his first successes in no time. By 16, the young whippersnapper was competing in the 2004 Olympics in Athens. From there, we've seen him strutting his gymnastics stuff in no less than four Olympic Games, finally bringing home the gold in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games on the parallel bars[2][5]. In total, this German sporting marvel accumulated 23 international medals and a staggering 40 German championship titles, placing him at the top of Germany's sports pantheon and earning him the coveted title of "Sportsman of the Year" twice[3].
So Why's the Olympic Champ Doing "Let's Dance" for a Change, Huh? 💃🕺
In the post-competition haze, Fabian embarked on various TV ventures. He teamed up with his old man for a shot at a million bucks on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"'s celebrity special. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Fabian even braved the 10-meter diving board on "Diving"! But now, with "Let's Dance," the agile gymnast steps into a brand-spanking new realm. "I'm stoked as hell to dip my toes into 'Let's Dance' because I gotta push beyond my limits," said the sprightly 37-year-old to RTL. "It's gonna be a wild ride, and I've got the utmost respect for everyone's performance. I'll give it my all and try to sail as far as possible."
Aw, Heck! You Need to Know This Stuff, Too! 🤔
Branded as "Turnfloh" due to his stature, Fabian's a proud supporter of 1. FC Köln. An unfortunate brush with the police came in 2024 when he tossed his smelly trash at his neighbor's pad. At 22, he gave us "Fabian Hambüchen: The Autobiography" to glimpse his incredible life[1]. Kick back and keep an eye on "Let's Dance" 2025 with these 14 fabulous dancers:
