Tadej Pogacar triumphantly secures his third victory at Strade Bianche after recovering from a dramatic crash in the race
In a thrilling display of resilience and skill, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) emerged victorious at the 2025 Strade Bianche, marking his third win at the iconic Italian race.
The Slovenian rider, who arrived at Siena's Piazza del Campo bloodied and bruised, secured the victory despite a dramatic crash on a high-speed descent with 50km to go. Pogacar's teammate, Tim Wellens, rounded out the podium, finishing in third place.
Pogacar's winning move came at the foot of the Colle Pinzuto, inside 20km to the finish line, where he attacked solo and pulled away from the pack. His victory brought the fastest edition of Strade Bianche on record, with a winning speed of 40.705km/h.
Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) finished in second place, one minute and 24 seconds down, while Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) claimed fourth place, 3 minutes and 23 seconds behind the winner. Gianni Vermeersch (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Michael Valgren (EF Education-EasyPost) completed the top eight, finishing in eighth and ninth place respectively.
The 2025 Strade Bianche course included 81.7km of gravel, with five additional stretches. A sector of gravel will be named in Pogacar's honor for his three victories.
In 2024, Pogacar made his winning move at a sector located 80km from the line in the Monte Sante Marie. His determination and unyielding spirit were once again on full display this year, as he fought through adversity to claim another well-deserved victory.
With three Strade Bianche titles under his belt, Pogacar continues to cement his place as one of the greatest cyclists of our time. His performance at this year's race was yet another testament to his incredible talent and unwavering will to win.
