Tadej Pogacar Plans Post-Tour de France Victory Schedule

Tadej Pogacar, the reigning four-time Tour de France champion, has announced his plans for the remainder of the 2025 season. After his successful defense of the yellow jersey in the recent Tour de France, Pogacar is set to take a well-deserved break and skip the Vuelta a España to focus on recovery.

Following his rest period, Pogacar will return to racing action in Canada's Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and Montréal in mid-September. The Slovenian cyclist will then compete at the UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda, aiming to add another world title to his impressive collection.

Later in October, Pogacar will race at the European Championships in southern France. With his sights set on the future, he has also expressed his intention to contest the 2026 Tour de France, where he hopes to equal the record of five victories.

Looking even further ahead, Pogacar has his eyes on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as a major future goal. He has indicated that he is "counting the years until retirement" but is not ready to stop racing just yet and expects to compete in several more Grand Tours before hanging up his cycling shoes.

This balanced approach to his racing schedule, combining recovery, key target races, and long-term ambitions, highlights Pogacar's strategic approach to his career. He aims to achieve historic Tour de France records and Olympic success, demonstrating his commitment to the sport and his passion for competition.

During the recent Tour de France, Pogacar showcased his dominance once again, putting more seconds between himself and Jonas Vingegaard in stage 18. Despite the pressure from Visma-Lease a Bike and the challenging summit finish of the stage from Albertville to La Plagne, Pogacar maintained his lead, demonstrating his resilience and determination.

In the final kilometre of stage 18, Pogacar launched an attack of his own, adding 11 seconds to his GC lead. This victory solidified his position as the clear favourite for the Tour de France, barring any major incidents or catastrophic mechanical failures.

As the Tour de France approaches its final day in Paris, Pogacar continues to inspire and captivate audiences with his exceptional performances. His journey towards historic Tour de France records and Olympic success is one that cycling fans around the world will be eager to follow.
