Syria, amidst uncertainty, continues to find solace in the unwavering promise of TWR (Trans World Radio)
In the heart of the Middle East, amidst a turbulent era marked by the 13-year-long civil war and recent regime changes, Trans World Radio (TWR) remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope and the gospel message to the people of Syria.
TWR's "Hope for Syria" program, launched during the early stages of the war, continues to resonate in the lives of Syrians, providing spiritual support and humanitarian hope through media. The Syrian team, working from a studio, produces new programs daily, reflecting the current events in the country.
The future of TWR's partners in Syria, however, remains uncertain due to the recent regime change. Despite this, the latest TWR broadcasts and programs still include Syria as a focus region, indicating ongoing engagement and outreach efforts there as of mid-2025.
The new government in Syria has pledged to preserve religious freedom and minority rights, a promise that Christians in Syria are adopting a wait-and-see approach regarding. Under the Assad regime, Christians had enjoyed a degree of freedom to practice their faith.
The team behind "Hope for Syria" includes a program called "Youth in Mind," catering to younger listeners. The Arabic Ministry director for TWR has expressed faith that God is using the unrest in Syria to draw attention and provide hope for an eternal life.
As the Syrian team navigates the challenges of rebuilding and reconciliation, they face their own fears about the unknown future. The director has asked for prayers for protection, freedom, strength, and wisdom for the TWR team in Syria, and for the church in Syria to remain united and be a light and salt for their nation.
TWR is seeking prayers and resources to continue and expand their radio/media outreach ministry in Syria. For those interested in learning more about Hope for Syria and contributing to the ministry, more information can be found on the project page.
