Syracuse Stage Reveals Cast and Creative Team for Musical 'The Hello Girls' Production
Get ready for an inspiring and captivating musical experience as Syracuse Stage brings The Hello Girls to the Archbold Theatre, running from September 9 to 28, 2025.
This production, directed by co-writer Cara Reichel, features music and lyrics by Peter Mills, and tells the true story of the first women soldiers in the U.S. Army. The women served as bilingual telephone operators in France during World War I.
The cast for this production includes Chessa Metz, Storm Lever, Alex Humphreys, Jamila Sabares-Klemm, Sophia Anna O'Brien, Sam Simahk, Christopher Carl, Aidan Cole, Andrew Mayer, Emily Mesa, Nadia Stiell, Dan Teixeira, Teddy Trice, and Kat Wolf.
The Hello Girls was originally commissioned by Prospect Musicals in New York City and premiered off-Broadway in 2018 to coincide with the centennial anniversary of the groundbreaking journey taken by the real-life women. Since then, writers Mills and Reichel have continued the play's development through workshops and a concert version of the show at the Kennedy Center in 2024.
The new production at Syracuse Stage includes fresh orchestrations, new staging, and updated material, making it a fresh interpretation of the original musical. The production is co-produced with Michael Cassel Group, Broadway & Beyond Theatricals, and Chief Operator LLC.
Jen Caprio is the costume designer for the production, with Jessica Paz handling the sound design, Kyra Button as the stage manager, Dawn Chiang as the lighting designer, and Caite Hevner as the projection designer.
The production is a tribute to the courage and resilience of the women who served during World War I, and is a must-see for both theatre enthusiasts and history buffs.
