Syracuse Stage Publicly Announces Auditions for the 'Tiny Martians, Big Emotions' Theatre for the Very Young Production in the 2025-26 Season

In an exciting development for young theatre enthusiasts, Syracuse Stage is seeking non-equity actors for their upcoming Theatre for the Very Young production, Tiny Martians, Big Emotions. This dynamic touring production, directed by Kate Laissle, is set to take place from January through June 2026.

The production follows a fascinating Martian duo as they embark on a journey to understand emotions for the first time. The Martians are inquisitive, clownlike, wordless, and expressive through sounds, body language, and gibberish. The show is designed for audiences aged 18 months to 5 years, making it an ideal opportunity for actors to engage with the youngest theatre-goers.

To audition, you'll need to participate in Syracuse Stage's virtual audition process. Actors sought must bring joy and spark imagination for young children. To stay updated on how to submit your audition, keep an eye on Syracuse Stage's official website and social media channels.

The audition process requires a headshot and resume, a 60-second video of a short story told without language but using sounds and movement, and your location (city/state). The production is part of the 2025-26 season and will rehearse from Jan. 5-18, 2026.

During the tour, the Martians will interact with the audience members to understand emotions related to colours. The touring production features flexible, on-demand performances, and actors will be assigned dates based on their availability and will be paid per performance.

Through their journey, the Martians learn about the importance of sharing and expressing emotions. They also discover the highs and lows of feelings and the impact of colours and textures on mood. This production promises to be a unique and enriching experience for both the actors and the audience.
