Syracuse Basketball Team Set for Exhibition Match in Buffalo: A Unique Chance Embraced

The Syracuse University men's basketball team is set to host a second Division I exhibition game at the JMA Wireless Dome (JMA Dome), according to reports by Jonah Bronstein of WIVB.com. The exact date and opponent for the game are yet to be announced.

The team's schedule currently lists two exhibition games, both at the JMA Dome, but no specific dates or opponents have been revealed yet. This suggests that the second exhibition game will also take place at the JMA Dome before the regular season begins.

Assistant Coach Peter Corasaniti confirmed the game in a phone conversation, and mentioned that many teams are either playing one Division I game, a closed scrimmage, or are still opting for a Division II game. The Syracuse team, however, is set to play two Division I exhibition games.

The first exhibition game will be an encounter against the University of Buffalo on October 25 at the Buffalo Key Bank Center. The NCAA rule change last January allows Division I teams to play up to two exhibition games against other Division I opponents.

The team will also play an exhibition game against Pace, but the details of the Division II game at home are yet to be disclosed.

The complete non-conference schedule for Syracuse will be available next week, as previously mentioned. The NCAA Tournament games will be held in the Buffalo Key Bank Center in 2026, and Syracuse's staff is aware of this.

The second Division I exhibition game at the JMA Dome offers Syracuse basketball fans from Western New York easier access to see SU play in person. The exact date and opponent for the game are eagerly awaited by fans and basketball enthusiasts alike.

Corasaniti did not provide any details about the opponent for the Division II game at home, nor did he mention any further plans for additional exhibition games beyond the one against Pace. The team's goal remains to make the NCAA Tournament, and getting an early look at the Buffalo Key Bank Center might prove valuable for future games.
