Synamedia disseminates Monumental Sports Network broadcast
Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has announced a partnership with Synamedia, a global leader in video network solutions, for the distribution of sports content and programming on their newly launched Monumental Sports Network. This partnership comes as MSE continues to grow at a rapid pace, and Synamedia's ease-of-use was deemed an important factor in these plans. The linear channel of Monumental Sports Network is now available on various distributors' websites, including Comcast/Xfinity, Cox, DirecTV, FuboTV, Hulu, Mediacom, Optimum, RCN, Spectrum, Verizon, YouTube TV, and more. Synamedia's solution is fully compatible for IP distribution, and their PowerVu technology is designed to support high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) and ultra high-definition delivery over satellite and IP terrestrial content distribution networks. This makes it a suitable choice for regional sports broadcasting, preparing industry conglomerates for a smooth transition to the cloud. Charlie Myers, Chief Technology Officer at Monumental Sports, stated that Synamedia was chosen for their proven solutions and established market leadership. "We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it presents for expanding viewing experiences of NHL's Washington Capitals, NBA's Washington Wizards, and WNBA's Washington Mystics games," said Julien Signes, General Manager, Video Network, Synamedia. MSE owns the broadcast rights for these teams in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and they have selected Synamedia's PowerVu technology for their primary distribution needs. As the Monumental Sports Network was recently acquired from Comcast/NBC Universal, MSE is looking forward to exploring the evolving relationship with Synamedia and their new network. The linear channel of Monumental Sports Network can be found at the same channel number where NBC Sports Washington was formerly found via various distributors. This move marks a new era for sports broadcasting in the Washington DC area, and with Synamedia's support, MSE is well-positioned to deliver high-quality content to its audience.
